It Was The Best Of Climbs
by Step Strasheim
First let me introduce myself: I'm 15 and road bivying poar (sic) because I'm a "climb instead of work" wall rat. I'M BROKE!!!! So feal (sic) sorry for me and give me the 25% off. Well enough bull !?$*. Here's my story.....
I'm 5.9 and 135 lbs. Not exactly a sport climbers body. My bud Chris dragged me out to Mickeys Beach* for the day. I can climb a 5.11D on a good day. Chris on the other hand is a 5.13C climber. We got over to Mickeys and he warmed up on 12.C and a 12.B. He asks if I would like to do "Nancy". Well, I hoped this was a climb and not his girlfriend. I said "sure" and and Angels must have lifted me up it as I pulled it my second try. I was stoked. As the day went on and we were doing some killer boulder problems, I noticed a route that looked around 12.A. So, I thought I would try my luck. I pulled it on my first try, but my arms were left shaking as if I was having a "Grand Mal Scziere" (sic). to make a short story shorter, the route ended up being "Sturgeon", a 5.12C, which surprised the hell outta' me. I also got a phone number of a 17 year old girl. Alright, she was 15, ugly, and rejected me, but I can still dream.
Well, that's my pathetic story. Give me a call if I won
or lost, and you can call collect if you are as poor as me.
